Bagagem desacompanhada

Definição

Every Brazilian citizen has the right to purchase goods for personal use during trips abroad and make a Simplified Declaration of Import for their unaccompanied baggage. Goods sent to the country as unaccompanied baggage fall under the Special Baggage Tax Scheme subjecting the traveler to an import tax calculated at 50% of the total value of the goods, as well as the State ICMS in some cases. There is no limit on the value of goods to be imported. Used clothes and personal effects and books, pamphlets and periodicals are tax exempt.

For This, it is Necessary:
1. To have travelled between the United States and Brazil;
2. Perform the import within 6 months upon your return to Brazil
3. Be up to date with the Brazilian IRS
4. Do not send products for sale
5. The goods must have been purchased in the country of origin and the purchase dates must coincide with the travel period.

Attention:
Brazilian law provides for penalties for false declarations and/or submission of fraudulent documents. The penalties range from fines calculated on the value of the goods, to seizure of said goods for confiscation as well as criminal prosecution.
Individuals can only import goods for their own use.

Peso e Volume

Volumetric Weight (Vkg) X Actual Weight (Kg):

When the packing has low weight but is too bulky, it will take more space than that of its weight. Therefore, all airlines calculate the freight value, based on what is higher: Volumetric Weight (Vkg) or Actual Weight (Kg).

Base x Largura x Altura (em polegadas) = X
X ÷ 1,728 = Y
Y ÷ 35.314 = M3 (Metro Cúbico)

Exemplo:
40” x 40” x 40” = 64,000
64,000 ÷ 1,728 = 37.04
37.04 ÷ 35.314 = 1.05 M3
